We have an exciting opportunity for a School Caretaker to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ lives at our trauma-informed therapeutic schools in Essex. Since 2012, the settings in both London and Essex have been recognised for their exceptional practice and are rated ‘outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted.
They are looking for a full-time School Caretaker to join their Essex team on a 3–6 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC), with an immediate or as-soon-as-possible start. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as travel between sites is required.
You will be the first point of contact for all premises-related issues, including emergencies, and will act as the Health & Safety representative for the cluster. Your practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong attention to detail will help ensure that our schools remain safe, compliant, and welcoming environments for both pupils and staff.

Carry out regular site checks, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and independent school standards.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests, prioritising safety and efficiency.
Oversee and liaise with external contractors, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within budget.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Take pride in ensuring the school sites are always well‑presented, safe, and functional.
