A well-respected setting in Redbridge, London, is seeking a skilled HLTA to join their team immediately. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Redbridge SENDATS is a specialist advisory service supporting children and young people (0–25 years) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). They collaborate closely with schools, families, settings, and professionals to ensure a fully integrated and personalised approach to each learner’s educational journey.
Their mission is to promote inclusive education, remove barriers to learning, and deliver impactful, individualised support that enables every child to thrive.
SENDATS is made up of Specialist Teams aligned with the primary areas of need set out in the SEND Code of Practice (2014):
Autism / Social Communication (5–25)
Cognition and Learning (5–25)
Physical & Complex Medical Needs / Sensory Needs (0–25)
Multi-disciplinary Training & Special Projects (5–25)
Home Tuition (5–25)
All teams include SEMH specialist teachers and experienced Specialist HLTAs working collaboratively through the Graduated Approach to promote inclusion, progress, and wellbeing.
Our client is seeking an experienced Specialist Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the SENDATS team and support children and young people with a wide range of SEND needs across Redbridge.
This is a unique and rewarding role that requires flexibility, independence, and a truly child-centred mindset. The successful candidate will work across a variety of settings — including mainstream classrooms, specialist provisions, and students’ homes — providing targeted interventions, personalised support, and specialist strategies to help pupils access learning and make sustained progress.
HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience)
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive practices.
Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils and families.
Confident delivering 1:1 or group-based interventions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential due to travel between settings.
Flexible, proactive, and committed to delivering the highest standard of support.
