The homes support children and young people with a range of emotional and behavioural needs, using trauma-informed, child-centred and relationship-based approaches. You will play a vital role in providing consistent, high-quality care that helps young people feel safe, supported and empowered.
This is initially a temporary position, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidates.

We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Homes Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day running of a children’s residential home in North Essex.
The home supports children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs using trauma-informed, child-centred and relationship-based approaches. You will work closely with the Registered Homes Manager to ensure high standards of care, compliance and positive outcomes for young people.
This position is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Support the Registered Homes Manager in ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and Ofsted regulations
Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
Work collaboratively with the management team to achieve positive outcomes for young people
Plan, manage and lead shifts, ensuring children are safe, supported and engaged
Ensure placement plans and care plans are consistently followed and reviewed
Provide leadership, guidance and support to staff on shift
Level 3 QCF qualification in Children and Young People
Several years’ experience working as a Senior in a children’s residential setting
Willingness to attend all required training
Ability to progress towards Level 5 through an internal development pathway
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Level 3 training, or willingness to complete

Monitoring and overseeing the quality of care delivered to ensure young people’s physical, emotional, psychological and social needs are met
Managing referrals, admissions and matching processes in line with policy and regulatory expectations
Leading the home through challenging situations, ensuring young people are supported during periods of crisis
Ensuring safe, compliant management of medication, finances and petty cash
Maintaining full compliance with statutory, safeguarding and regulatory requirements, including health and safety and fire safety standards
Acting as the Registered Manager and working closely with external professionals and inspectors
Leading, developing and retaining a skilled and motivated staff team
